Arcadia Solutions were chose by Sony Music Podcasts (formerly Somethin’Else) to facilitate their new Sony Podcast facility in Holborn London. Sony wished to convert four meeting rooms in to two fully equipped Podcasting studios.

To achieve this, we provided a full acoustic design along with 3D renders to agree the aesthetic look for both studios which required creating a Control Room and a Live Space for both studios. To achieve this we had to form a vision window between the spaces to form the control room and the live room along with an entrance corridor to the live room.

Once the rooms were formed we built and installed the acoustics for the both the control rooms and the live rooms. This also included audio and video cable connectivity between the rooms with patch panels in a wall box in the live room then cabled through to the control room.

Cabling and connectivity

On the audio patch panels we provided microphone and headphone connections and for the video, multiple SDI connections following a technical design provided by Arcadia Solutions. Lastly we installed a speaker monitor speaker in the live rooms for communication between the live rooms and control rooms. Both studios were completed on schedule and delivered fully operational
